Ex-footballer: I would carry clean samples, then go and get wasted
Figures from a 麻豆社 Sport Freedom of Information request shows nearly 40 percent of players who played in the English Football League last season were not drugs tested by UK Anti-Doping.
Ex-Derby County player Shane Nicholson described taking drugs and drinking during his career. He was the first player in the UK to be banned for life for failing two drugs tests.
Shane said: 鈥淓ven if I was doing poorly on the pitch it wouldn鈥檛 have stopped me taking the drugs, I was in need of it.鈥
鈥淚 would carry a clean sample of urine with me so I could use it whenever I was tested. They tested me and I went out and got wasted, it wasn鈥檛 a clever move as they came in on Monday and tested me again.鈥
