57-year-old heavy metal singer from Swindon Steve Grimmett had his leg amputated in Ecuador after complications with an infection on his foot.

He has just returned to the UK, and is recovering in the Great Western Hospital, after losing part of his leg.

He'd been on tour in the country with his rock band - and says he's grateful to his fans for supporting him.
