'I'm optimistic we can do a lot better than this' - Jeffrey Sachs
Professor Jeffrey Sachs, of Columbia University, has proposed a programme of investment and planning designed to address many of America's economic problems in his new book "Building the New American Economy: Smart, Fair, and Sustainable".
But how - in such a polarised nation, led by President Trump - can the consensus for such a project be found?
Jeffrey Sachs argues that instead of exclusively focusing on economic growth, America should also pay attention to rebuilding 'social capital' at a time of serious division.
