In March last year we ran a series of audio diaries kept at great risk by Samer, an activist living inside Raqqa, the capital of the so-called Islamic State.

Samer spent months keeping track of the everyday cruelties in the city - as well as the everyday business of life under Islamic State.

He has now left Raqqa and has been living in refugee camps across Syria. The Â鶹Éç’s Mike Thomson has been speaking to him.
