Helen Mirren: Judiciary 'incredibly brave' to fight Mafia
In a new documentary, 'A Very Sicilian Justice', Dame Helen Mirren narrates on Italy's trial of the century, where members of the Mafia are in the dock alongside members of the state.
The actress told 5 live how the crime association is a, "culture that Italy has suffered from".
Dame Helen and her husband have a house in the south of the country and the brother of its architect was "killed in a bomb attack" by the Mafia.
The film focuses on Judge Antonino Di Matteo who is the chief prosecutor in the case. He鈥檚 surrounded by bodyguards around the clock.
Dame Helen says, "anyone in Italy that fights in such a high profile way you automatically expose yourself to potential attack鈥.
