David Storey, whose death was announced today, was a Booker Prize winning author and playwright whose early novel This Sporting Life (1960) became a film classic directed by Lindsay Anderson.
In 2009 David Storey talked to John Wilson about This Sporting Life, his training as an artist with Lucian Freud and his later collaboration with Anderson - the play Home, which starred John Gielgud and Ralph Richardson.
