Zlatan and Totti show Defoe can still have England impact β Mills
Former England defender Danny Mills says the longevity of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Francesco Totti show that 34-year-old Jermain Defoe can still perform the highest level.
The Sunderland striker made a scoring return to the England side after a three-year absence in the 2-0 World Cup qualifying win at Wembley, and Mills believes 35-year-old Ibrahimovic and Totti, 40, can act as inspirations.
βZlatan is still being fantastic at 35, Totti is still managing to play for Roma at 40,β said Mills.
βWe took Teddy Sheringham to the World Cup in 2002 at 36.
βIf he [Defoe] is in good form, why not? [consider him for the World Cup]β he added.
