Labour MP Alison McGovern has said she regrets voting against taking military action in Syria in 2013 "every day".

In August 2013 MPs rejected the government鈥檚 proposals for possible UK military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government to deter the use of chemical weapons.

Alison McGovern told 5 live鈥檚 Your Call: 鈥淚 regret whether or not we ought to have brought the Prime Minister back.鈥�

鈥淭he reason for voting against was because we had concerns about what was being suggested. Should I, could I have done more to make him come back with a better strategy and a clearer plan?鈥�

鈥淭hat鈥檚 what I have to live with every day.鈥�
