Paula Radcliffe: make doping a criminal offence
Marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe has called for harsher penalties for drug cheats, especially those involved in elite road racing. Radcliffe says doping should be made a criminal offence, making it easier for authorities to investigate and prosecute suspected cases of drugs cheating. She was speaking out following news that Jemima Sumgong, the current Olympic champion and 2016 London marathon winner, had tested positive for EPO. Sumgong is the latest Kenyan athlete to be caught breaking doping regulations.
