Could 'clean eating' diets be harming your health?
'Clean eating' diets that cut out vital food groups such as dairy could be leading to health problems in young people, a new study suggests.
Nutritionist Susan Lanham-New scientific advisor to the National Osteoporosis Society, who conducted the survey, told 5 live:
鈥淭he study found twenty percent of 18-24 year-olds were cutting out dairy.鈥
鈥淵ou can get a diet that is calcium rich without dairy but you must pay attention to food that are calcium rich but with the purporting of these different diets this is not happening.鈥
鈥淭here is a concern that as young people are getting older that we are seeing an increase in stress fractures.鈥
