Former Lib Dem manifesto writer David Laws has told 5 live that putting one together in a hurry can lead to political mistakes.

鈥淭hey'll certainly be completed much more rapidly, almost in a panic.鈥�

Political parties will have less than two months to assemble their manifestos after Theresa May announced a snap election for the 8th of June.

He also says that manifestos require much more detail nowadays than in previous years.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not like 50 or 100 years ago where frankly some of the manifestos were a couple of pages which just said 鈥榳e鈥檒l try our best.鈥欌��
