General Election 2017: Day 1 round-up

Today talks to some of the key figures in the 2017 General Election

Jeremy Corbyn could not be clearer: there will be no coalition deal between with the SNP and a Labour Government. The SNP have not ruled it out but don't think it's likely. The Lib Dems also say they wouldn't work with Labour. And yet emblazoned across the front of the Daily Telegraph is Theresa May's warning from last night: "SNP plots a coalition of chaos." There is also talk of a progressive alliance involving the Greens and focused on a seat in Plymouth where they might withdraw and try to help Labour win.

Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Karen Bradley says a "coalition of chaos" is possible if Jeremy Corbyn is propped up by the SNP.

UKIP MEP Nigel Farage considers standing as an MP. He says UKIP "has not been written off".

Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry, says that political parties are "essentially turning their back on the vast majority of people who look to a government to change things".

It has emerged the Green Party in Plymouth is considering not putting up a candidate in order to get a Labour MP elected.
