London Marathon: 'We'll cross the line together'
Hear more about the story that captured the nation's heart at this year's marathon.
The story - and the image - of yesterday's London Marathon had to be that of one runner helping another cross the finish line. Crowds - including Prince William - cheered on Matthew Rees as he stopped 300 metres from the end to help a stranger, David Wyeth, who was struggling to finish the race.
Swansea Harriers runner Mr Rees told the Chorlton Runners athlete: "We'll cross the line together." Race officials tweeted: "You've just encompassed everything that's so special about the #London Marathon."
Matthew Rees says he saw a stranger struggling and felt it was the "natural thing to do".
