A suspected cyber-attack on the NHS has affected at least 16 organisations across the UK, including hospitals and GP surgeries. Many staff are unable to access any of their normal records, and have had to resort to using paper notes and asking non-emergency patients to return at a later date.

Dr Tarek Seda from Kings Mill Hospital in the West Midlands told 5 live the cyber-attack is 鈥渁 real shame.鈥�

鈥淎t the moment we are stuck.鈥�

鈥淭ime here is of the essence. If we have someone with a heart attack and they need emergency blood tests, it鈥檚 going to take us more time and people could die.鈥�
