Dai Young says senior players at Wasps told him that they thought he was being a bit hard on his son when he initially joined the club.

Thomas Young, the son of former Wales prop Dai, joined in 2014 and has regularly started for Wasps this season.

Young said: "You've got to try and treat him the same but I certainly overcompensated when he was here early doors.

It took some of the senior players knocking on my door sand saying: 'Listen we think you're being a bit hard on Thomas, he should be playing a bit more.'"

Young's side topped this season's premiership table and will face Leicester Tigers in the semi-finals on Saturday.
