Burnham: Bring back 'death tax' proposal
The mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has said "never in my political life have I seen a U-turn on a manifesto".
Speaking about Theresa May's announced changes to the Conservative's social care policy, the former Labour cabinet minister told Martha Kearney "it's a mess".
Mr Burnham went on to suggest the return of his proposal for "a percentage levy on everybody's estate", previously characterised as the 'death tax', saying "it aligns social care with the NHS".
