Former Blue Peter presenter Peter Purves has said his co-presenter John Noakes "was incredibly brave".

Remembering his friend who has died at the age of 83, Purves told Shaun Ley "we were a bit of a double act".

He said: "It's a big chunk of my life that's gone with him."
