Will Self has said this election 'more than any other' shows 'the failings' of the electoral system.

The author told 5 live Afternoon Edition that young people 'are getting more involved because they sense the utter taedium vitae of our political system'

He added; 'even if I wanted to vote Labour...my MP was Brexit campaigner' and that this election 'more than any other' shows a lack of proportional representation which cannot deliver consensus when there is a 'nationalist versus potentially federal Europe divide which cuts across the right/left declivity'.
