Tom Green has said he had to fight with MTV to get some of the crazy stuff he wanted to do on the network's The Tom Green Show.

The actor and comedian said at some point he was told by a producer:
"You're not in Canada anymore, you're on MTV!".

Green, who is currently on a European standup tour, told 5 live's Nihal Arthanayake his love of rap music was a way of getting information from "outside of the mainstream media".
