Major: The views of the 48% cannot be brushed aside
Former Prime Minister John Major has said the views of the 48% who voted against Brexit "cannot be brushed aside" by the government.
Speaking on the World at One, he said the electorate voted against the government in the Brexit referendum for reasons entirely unrelated to the European Union and that must be taken into account.
"A hard Brexit was not endorsed by the electorate," he said.
