London fire: Parallels with Lakanal House fire
Harriet Harman, Labour MP for Camberwell and Peckham, fears fire safety lessons have not been learnt from a tower block fire in her constituency eight years ago.
Six people died in the fire at Lakanal House in Peckham in 2009.
Ms Harman was talking to the 麻豆社's Radio 4's World at One as at least six people so far have been confirmed dead, after a huge fire at Grenfell Tower, a tower block in west London.
She also stressed the importance of the government "to reassure the local council they will be provided with the resources" to resettle those who have lost their homes, and who would have fled the burning building with very few possessions.
