Britain's three-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome says "you're going to twist the knife" if you see an opponent battling during a climb.

The 31-year-old was speaking to Â鶹Éç Sport's Tom Fordyce as part of 5 live Sport's 'Chris Froome: The Secret World of Climbing'.

Froome said: "I mean if you can see someone battling and they're a threat to your position you're going to twist that knife as hard as you can.

"It's a hugely mental game, I mean as much as it is physical it's mental."
