In our first interview for the looking back at 60 years of Today Lord Browne tells John Humphrys about some of the changes he has seen in Britain in is his lifetime: " When I was at university being gay and doing something about it was still illegal."

Lord Browne describes how when he was outed he gained rather than lost friends.

"I think we've come a long way, it is so much better to live in a country where everybody is different and we can include people," he added.
