Airports seeing rise in 'prinking culture'
A travel writer says "'prinking" - or pre-drinking - at the airport before boarding a plane could be one of the causes of the 50% increase in arrests for drunken behaviour at airports.
Jennifer Cox has been a travel writer for 20 years. She told The World at One that because airlines are now charging for alcohol whilst travelling, there has been an increase in "the phenomena of prinking" which involves "having a large drink at the airport" before boarding, or people "bringing their own alcohol on planes."
