Hate crimes: Online abuse 'as serious as face-to-face'

Is online hate crime the same as real-life hate crime?

Prosecutors in England and Wales has said hate crime online must be taken as seriously as hate crime in everyday life. The Crown Prosecution Service is updating its guidance to take into account the increasing number of cases that take place in cyberspace.

Labour MP Luciana Berger, who has been a of victim of online hate crime, and crime and criminal justice lead for the College of Policing David Tucker, discuss with Nick Robinson how much of a change this could be.
