Machines programmed using photos are becoming sexist
Machines programmed using photos are learning to be sexist towards women, dismissing the great promise of artificial intelligence and its ability to remove biases.
The founder of One Health Tech, Maxine Mackintosh, tells Mishal Husain that historical data plays a big part in computer algorithms: "Big data sets reflect the biases and the inequalities we have in society."
The co-director of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics Noel Sharkey thinks the problem is more it is very difficult to handle very big data.
