Personal finance expert Martin Lewis explains why some shops may still accept old pound coins after the imminent deadline, if they want to.

From 16 October, shops aren鈥檛 allowed to give out the round 拢1 coin in change. But they have the freedom to accept them after the deadline, and refuse them before the deadline, if they want to.
