Dr Kwame Darko is one of Ghana's very few plastic surgeons. There are about 12 serving a population of almost 30 million.

The surgeons are increasingly faced with a range of cases, from burns, congenital disorders, growth deformities to cancers, that require surgical intervention.

But Dr Darko told Focus on Africa's Akwasi Sarpong that just a few simple steps and quick action could prevent burns from becoming a serious medical problem.
