As a young man in 1940, Ron Jones was called up to fight in the Middle East before being captured by the Germans in 1942, when he was sent to Auschwitz and suffered horribly until finally being set free in 1945.

Now, at the age of 100, Mr Jones is still going strong and still out there selling poppies for the Royal British Legion.

Ron Jones spoke to John Humphrys about his extraordinary life.
