Mental health wait times 'depressing and shocking'
A World at One investigation has uncovered wide variations in waiting times for mental health treatment in England. Some patients face a wait of more than two years, while others begin treatment after just two weeks.
The former Liberal Democrat health minister Norman Lamb has said the findings were "depressing and shocking".
He told the World at One it demonstrates that there needs to be "equality between mental health and physical health" services and that "lives are being lost as a result of inadequate access".
