A teacher who hid her pupils in a cupboard during the shooting at a school in Florida has said a suggestion by the US President to arm some teachers could go 鈥榯erribly wrong鈥�.

Melissa Falkowski teaches at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were killed last week.

She told 5 live鈥檚 Sarah Brett:

鈥淚 went to school to teach kids鈥�I didn鈥檛 go to school to become a police officer and to carry a gun in my classroom.鈥�
