Diabetes 'breakthrough'

Bath University has come up with an invention to easily monitor blood sugar levels.

There are around four million people in Britain who have diabetes and one of the biggest problems for people with type two diabetes is knowing quickly, easily and cheaply what their blood sugar measurements are. Out of control blood sugar levels can cause amputations and blindness and take up to about 10 percent of the entire NHS budget. So there is a great deal of interest in an invention the University of Bath has made, which it claims, could be a real breakthrough. Dr Adelina Ilie explains what this invention does.
