East Coast Train Line: 'Private sector has failed'
Transport Secretary Chris Grayling told Parliament that rail services on the East Coast Main Line are being brought back under government control.
Former transport secretary Lord Adonis tells Radio 4's World at One that he welcomes the idea of the train line being under public ownership because "the private sector has failed, and it should not be rewarded for failure."
He added it is important that "other private companies do not think they are going to get a bail out in similar situations, because if they did you would have them queueing round the block."
