The first freight train exclusively destined for Antwerp reached the Belgian port on Saturday - 16 days after it left the Chinese port of Tangshan. The route went from China through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany and finally Belgium. Fergus Nicoll asked Geert Gekiere, Managing Director of Euroports Belgium, whether this trial run was a game-changer for the industry.
