South Africa passes minimum wage law
South Africa's parliament has passed a bill that should guarantee a minimum wage to all its citizens. Some trade unions have opposed this saying it will legitimise poverty. Once the president signs it into law, the lowest paid worker should receive not less than 20 rand or about $1.60 cents per hour of labour. But is it enough?
