Heathrow expansion

Heathrow expansion is set to go ahead but is it the right option?

MPs are expected to vote this month on whether a third runway should be built at Heathrow. Transport Secretary, Chris Grayling, will publish the Airports National Policy Statement tomorrow, triggering a Commons vote within 21 days. Labour MPs - Ruth Cadbury and Mike Gapes - argue for and against expansion; former transport secretary Justine Greening says Gatwick expansion is a better option and chair of the Airports Commission, Howard Davies, says Heathrow expansion will be a success.
