The Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, has persuaded the prime minister to relax the government's strict cap on visas for skilled migrants, excluding doctors and nurses from the figures. This will allow the NHS to recruit from overseas without restriction, while freeing up visas for other skilled workers, as Nick Watt reports.
