Italy threatens to expel Roma people
The UN has criticised Italy after it threatened to expel Roma people from the country
The UN has described Italy's interior minister's comments as dangerous and shocking. Matteo Salvini, has said he wants to "count" the Roma community in Italy and to deport those with no right to stay. The head of the UN Human Rights Office in Europe called the plan unacceptable and racist.
