That sinking feeling in Jakarta
Northern Jakarta has sunk by 2.5m in just ten years. if it carries on, much of the northern part of the city could be completely submerged by 2050. The 麻豆社's Jonathan Bithrey talks to Elisa Sootanoo-Jaya, executive director of the Rujak Centre for urban studies, about why Jakarta is on its way down and what is being done about it.
