Tom Griffin is a singer/songwriter, from Hereford, performing his own style of blues, folk and jazz-inspired music.

His main influences are Delta and Chicago blues from Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan, alongside Billy Bragg and Pink Floyd.

Tom began playing the guitar aged 12, learning to play 'skateboarding music' and recorded his first demos on an 8-track while playing gigs at village hall and school talent contests.

His first studio experience came at the age of 15 and just one year later, he swapped the guitar for a box of screwdrivers and became an engineer in the British Army.

For six years, Tom served in the military and now works as a secondary school teacher in Oxford.

The Earl has sunk

An investigation is currently underway after the live music pleasure boat, which is docked at Worcester's Diglis Lock, became submerged and is now almost completely under water.

The owners of the boat are in contact with their insurers and the Canal and Rivers Trust are looking into how it happened.

Part of their investigation will also involve raising the Earl out of the river.

National success

A Hereford musician has won a national music competition.

Nico Michael won the Now That's Entertainment showcase after taking part in the grand finals in Brighton.

The event itself has been described as the online version of Britain鈥檚 Got Talent, where people enter videos of themselves singing, that culminates in a live performance.

麻豆社 Music Introducing in Ross-on-Wye

Our sessions, this month, come from Jacqueline鈥檚 Nightclub in Ross-on-Wye.

Under its former name, The Top Spot Ballroom, the venue was popular for bands in the late '60s and throughout the '70s.

The Beatles were booked to play there for 拢35.

Van Morrison, The Kinks, The Move and Fleetwood Mac have all also played the venue.

Worcester Christmas Lights

At 麻豆社 Introducing in Hereford & Worcester, we support the very best new music from across our region.

Since 2005,听we've broadcast more than 1,000 sessions, helping to showcase some of our area's most talented musicians to a massive audience.

We鈥檝e handpicked some of our favourite acts to join us to switch on Worcester鈥檚 Christmas Lights!

Not only is this a fantastic opportunity for the musicians we鈥檝e selected (who didn鈥檛 even know they were being considered for this incredible gig!), but also a chance for Worcester to see the amazing talent we have right here on our doorstep. As always, we also hope this will also inspire other musicians to share their music with us.

The event, this year, moves from the Guildhall to the newly-revamped Cathedral Square under the statue of Sir Edward Elgar. The recording and switch-on takes place on Thursday, 22 November with these festive sessions being broadcast throughout December.
