More magazines than ever are using black and Asian models on their covers and in their editorials; one recent example is Rihanna featuring on the cover of the September 2018 issue of Vogue in the UK.

Zabaida Malik considers the importance of diversity in our press, and how this can influence society. She argues that since magazines set standards on what is beautiful, the decisions they make about which people appear on their covers are more significant than you might think.
