One of the main issues in the Nigerian elections that candidates and voters have to consider is insecurity. The threat posed by the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram in the northeast is well known. But actually last year many more people were killed in clashes between farmers and cow-herders in the centre of the country. The two are divided by religion, ethnicity and culture, and often fight over access to land and water. Newsday's James Copnall went to went to Ashige – around four hours’ drive from the capital Abuja – to find out more.
