‘No further delay in Nigeria’s elections’
In Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission or INEC has been heavily criticised by politicians and the general public, following the last minute postponement of the country’s election by a week. Newsday’s James Copnall caught up with the INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, and asked him to explain why the polls, scheduled for 16th February, had been delayed.
