John Mikel Obi speaks about playing in the World Cup despite knowing his father had been kidnapped for a second time.

Speaking exclusively to 麻豆社 World Service鈥檚 Sportsworld, Nigeria football captain, John Mikel Obi, admits playing in Nigeria鈥檚 World Cup group D game against Argentina while in the knowledge that his father had been kidnapped for a second time "was heartbreaking鈥�.

The former Chelsea midfielder added: "I didn鈥檛 say anything to anyone. I took it on myself and I held it in.

"I went out there and nobody knew about it. No single person knew about it. It was my responsibility [to captain the team against Argentina], it was my job and I had to do it.

"I sat down in my room and thought about it so many times and thought 鈥榮hould I say something?鈥�"
