Next week on PM we are starting a new series trying to better understand the impact of pollution and climate change on the oceans by following the fortunes of a puffin colony on a Scottish Island - The Isle of May.
In order to get us in the mood, we've asked Adam Nicholson, author of The Seabird's Cry, to reflect on the wonders of the puffin.
