'The beach smells of boiled eggs and farts'

An infestation of a seaweed-like algae is impacting some of Mexico's most popular Caribbean beaches. It has also pitted local communities against the president, who has described the problem as a "minor issue".

Caesar Ortiz owns a taco restaurant on the waterfront in Tulum and says the beach smells so bad that it is forcing tourists to run away.
