Knife crime epidemic

Is the government doing enough to tackle knife crime?

The Home Affairs Select Committee says the government is failing to get a grip on what it describes as a knife crime epidemic. One of Boris Johnson's key promises when he became prime minister was to recruit 20,000 more police officers. He's also pledged greater use of police powers to stop and search. Will this be enough to reverse the problem?
We hear from Yvette Cooper, chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee, and Policing Minister Kit Malthouse. We also hear from Caroline Shearer whose 17-year-old son Jay was killed as a result of knife crime. She now runs Only Cowards Carry Weapons Awareness.
