Harriet Harman to run for Commons Speaker
The Labour MP and Mother of the House told Today she would run to replace John Bercow
Labour MP Harriet Harman told Today that she will run to become the next Commons Speaker, after John Bercow announced he will stand down on 31 October. The Mother of the House - the longest continuously-serving female MP - added that the next Speaker must be "scrupulously neutral" on debates,
