Gareth Thomas, the former Welsh rugby captain, discusses how he was forced to reveal his HIV status by a tabloid newspaper.

Thomas had not told his parents or siblings about the diagnosis when he was approached by a journalist.

"I didn't really want to put my loved ones through that moment of fear and dread without giving them a chance to understand," he said.
