Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan have reached an initial deal on the filling and operation of what will be Africa's biggest hydro-electric dam.

The three nations agreed, following a meeting in Washington DC, that the mega dam on the River Nile should be filled in stages during the rainy season.

A Malawi High Court has issued an interim order - which applies to schools countrywide - saying that any pupils excluded as a consequence of having dreadlocks should be allowed back to class while it is hearing the case.

And in Uganda more than 90 women and girls who were trafficked across the border to Kenya have been rescued and returned home, according to authorities.
